General Information - Water / Wastewater

The Township of Southgate offers municipal water and sewer services to residents of the Village of Dundalk.

Water testing bottles provided by Public Health Grey Bruce are available to be picked up at the Municipal Office for private well owners to check if their water is safe. Please check the following website for more information on water testing:​
Municipal water and wastewater is billed bi-monthly and is based on usage. There are various methods in which to pay your Township of Southgate utility bill:
  • In person at the Southgate Municipal Office, 185667 Grey Road 9, or by mail to RR 1 Dundalk ON N0C 1B0, (after hours drop slot at left of front door and a locked drop box at the Olde Town Hall in Dundalk) If payment is sent through the mail, please allow sufficient mailing time to ensure that payment is received by the due date;
  • Cash, Cheque or Interac and cheques dated to the due date will be accepted and processed on the due date;
  • At the counter of all major financial institutions, or telephone or on-line banking. Please use your account number (8 digit number located at the top right of your utility bill) as your account number when making utility payments;
  • Pre-authorized payment withdrawals (either on a monthly basis or by installment due date).

The Village of Dundalk's municipal drinking water system has shown historical sodium levels that are above the Ontario Drinking Water Quality Standards maximum acceptable concentration (MAC) which is 20 mg/l. 
The samples that were taken March 7, 2016 for Well 3 were 28.8 mg/l and for Well 4 were 27.7 mg/l.Samples taken July 5, 2016
The re-samples that were taken March 16, 2016 for Well 3 were 27.5 mg/l and for Well 4 were 27.8 mg/l.
​Samples taken July 5, 2016, results for Well D3 were 27.9 mg/l and for Well D4 were 28.0 mg/l.
